It's important that your newborn receives the very best care from the beginning.  Ideally, your family pediatrician sees your new baby from their first exam and continues that care after discharge.  If your pediatrician is unable to see your baby after delivery, it's vital that the hospital specialist communicates closely with you while in the hospital and with you and your pediatrician after discharge.

KNS physicians work together to see not only the babies they care for in the community, but also babies who are unable to be seen by their own doctors after delivery.  KNS pediatricians stay in close contact with baby's parents while in hospital, keeping them fully informed of their baby's progress.   We make every effort to keep mom and baby together, conducting exams and care almost exclusively in the mother's room and with the parent's participation.

After discharge, we communicate directly with the family's community pediatrician so that the line of care and communication is continuous and unbroken.
